Back Issues
Spring / Summer of 2010 has brought in a large group of classic Silver and Bronze age back issues, including some nice keys. Not everything is on hand here at the shop, so be sure to ask for anything you might be interested in. There are runs of Fantastic Four, Thor (and many Journey Into Mystery's), Tales of Suspense, and many other Marvels. There are some excellent DC War Titles (Our Army at War, All American Men of Wat, etc.), plus a solid amount of silver age Batman, Detective and Adventure, PLUS some nice high grade Bronze age Superman and Batman books. Everything is being processed right now, so ask about your interests. Unfortunately we cannot list every book in our 150,000 issue master file, but here we've provided you with a basic overview of our back-issue selection by company. Simply scroll down to the publisher you're interested in, and you'll find a capsule summary of our file status. Please remember: we are constantly buying and updating our stock; just because it does not appear explicitly on this list does not mean we don't have it! To ask about specific books/conditions, deliver want lists or check stock and prices, e-Mail us at: atlas@acomics.com or call us at 708-453-2110 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday from 12-6pm (CST) and we'll get back to you ASAP. Start hunting and enjoy!
AARDVARK/VANAHEIM
Plenty of issues of Cerebus going back to around #30, plus Cerebus bi-weekly (reprints) and issues of Normalman and other AV oddities.

ACG
A solid smattering of Forbidden Worlds, Adventures into the Unknown, Magicman, plus a lot of early Herbies and more than a few other titles. Sadly, if you're looking for Commander Battle and his Atomic Sub, ferget it!

ANTARCTIC PRESS
Here is a company who's file has been enhanced by recent purchases. Various issues of Warrior Nun, Shotgun Mary and earlier titles such as Iczer Zone and Gold Digger are now in depth. Check COMICO and ETERNITY for earlier series of Robotech.

ATLAS/SEABOARD
We have a very deep file for this 70's upstart. Near complete runs (short as they were) of almost everything except the very hard to find magazine titles. Great issues by Ditko, Colon, Chaykin, Buckler, Hama and others!

CALIBER
The output of this company has been wide, but fairly obscure. We have a large group of Caliber books which are tough to find, including titles such as Negative Burn, early issues of Dead World, Saint Germaine and many other obscurities and oddities.

CHAOS
In addition to the typical Evil Ernie and Lady Death selections, we still have titles such as Detonator and Lynch Mob. Ask us.

CHARLTON
This Summer (2010) we received a very nice collection of Ditko Charltons; Tales of the Mysterious Traveller, Gorgo, Mysteries of the Unexplored World, and many others. These books are currently off-site, so let us know if you have any specific requests. Our selection of selection of other (non-Ditko) Charlton books is excellent, featuring plenty of titles such as Ghostly Haunts, Fightin' Army/Navy, Doomsday+1, Timmy the Timid Ghost, and many more.

CLASSICS ILLUSTRATED
A nice selection of many issues of the original Gilberton run are available, including a number of first printings and rare issues, as well as Classics Illustrated Jr., and that wonderful series The World Around Us, featuring the art of Reed Crandall, Jack Kirby, George Evans and others!

CONTINUITY
If you're interested in the work of Neal Adams clones (and the occasional job by Neal himself), we have a good selection of both the early (Skate Man, Echo of Futurepast) and late (Cyberrad, Megalith) period Continuity titles.

CRUSADE
Shi, and the other spin-offs are still kicking around in our permanent file.

DARK HORSE
We have an excellent back stock on many Dark Horse titles. From oddities like Propeller Man and Trekker to Star Wars and Ghost, our file covers a lot of ground. Recent aquisitions have made this file one of our best.

DC
Certainly one of our most comprehensive holdings, the DC file is very deep on most titles back to the mid to late 60's. It has also certainly been helped by recent arrivals (summer, 2010), especially: high grade Bronze age Superman, Detective, Phantom Stranger, House of Mystery, and mid-grade copies of many late 50's / early 60's books including Batman, Mystery in Space (as early as #8), Strange Adventures and manyothers. Remember, when we say comprehensive, we're not kidding. If you're looking for strange and obscure titles such as Swing with Scooter, Outcasts, Nathanial Dusk, or Bomba, the Jungle Boy, we have them.

DELL
Yow, Dell sure put out a lot of comics! We can't claim to have a comprehensive selection, (who can?) but recent buys (summer, 2010) have included a fantastic selection of Four Colors, especially TV and movie photo covers. In addition there are at least 2 full boxes of vintage Dells of all types.

EC
While we don't usually keep them on hand in the store, we do have a fair selection of original EC's, primarily War, Sci-Fi, and Crime titles. (The horror books are increasingly difficult to keep available.) We also recently aquired (summer, 2010) some mid-grade early issues of Mad (starting with #2) and Panic. We do have, of course, a large group of the various reprints from Gemstone and Gladstone as well.

ECLIPSE
This is another company we are fairly deep on. I know you Alan Moore / Neil Gaimen fans out there will be looking for issues of Miracleman. We currently have a great selection of almost everything from 1-16, but (like everyone) not much beyond that. Also: runs of Scout, Airboy, DNAgents, Twisted Tales, Captain Victory, plus deep catalogue titles like Axel Pressbutton, Mad Dogs, and Somerset Holmes.

ETERNITY
Of course we have issues of The Trouble with Girls! What store would be complete without them, or many other Eternity mainstays such as Lensman, Robotech, or War of the Worlds? We have runs of these books and many others.

FANTAGRAPHICS
This is a pretty thin file, but we often acquire new issues. Please let us know what you're looking for.

FIRST COMICS
We have an excellent selection of titles from First. Good runs of American Flagg, Warp, Grimjack, Starslayer and many others. Terrific books by Tim Truman, Angel Medina, Jim Starlin, Howard Chaykin and many others abound.

GOLD KEY
Our file on Gold Key has grown dramatically over recent years, and now includes many early and premiere issues of titles such as George of the Jungle, The Jetsons, Hanna Barbera Super TV Heroes, Bullwinkle, Astro Boy, and so on. There are also plenty of other solid runs of Boris Karloff (and Karloffs' Thriller), Tarzan, Magnus, Star Trek, Twilight Zone and so on.

HARRIS
Many issues of Harris' Vampirella are available, as well as some of their other short lived titles such as Q-Unit. See the Warren listing for original (magazine)issues of Vampirella.

HARVEY
We have a nice selection of many Harvey titles, including a good group of recently acquired mid to low-grade 50's horror titles! (With super fantastic work by Lee Elias, Bob Powell and many others!) Wendy, Stumbo, Bunny, Richie Rich, and many others are available, including quite a few 25 cent Giants.

IMAGE
Our Image file is quite heavy (all that enamel coated stock, don't you know). If you're looking for issues of Wildcats, Spawn, Youngblood and the like, we can help! In fact, with the recent aquisition of thosands of Image books, you'd be hard pressed to stump us.

INNOVATION
Innovation titles are reasonably hard to find, and some become more collectable each year. The movie and TV properties continue to generate interest, and we have many of them, including issues of Forbidden Planet, Lost in Space, and Freddy's Nightmares. We also have much of the superhero part of the line, such as Justice Machine and Cobalt Blue.

KITCHEN SINK
We have a good selection of the main Kitchen Sink, including The Spirit, Dearth Rattle and Kings In Disguise, and many others.

MALIBU
Those of you who are interested in Malibu's superhero line will find that we can help you. We have a terrific selection of their early books, relaunches, and Marvel merger issues.

MARVEL
With DC, Marvel is the Big Daddy (with apologies to Tennessee Williams) of the Atlas file. We have a very comprehensive Marvel selection from the early 60's through today. Looking for Millie the Model? Omega the Unknown? Captain Savage and his Leatherneck Raiders? We have 'em, as well as solid runs of most major titles: Amazing Spider-Man back to #6, Fantastic Four back to #2, Uncanny X-Men back to #2, Avengers back to #8, and on and on. Recent purchases include early runs of   Suspense, Spidey, FF, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Marvel Tales, Marvel Superheroes, high grade copies of many Bronze and late Bronze titles, plus nearly 2 full runs of high grade Conans. In addition we have snagged dozens of high grade copies of early 70's Marvel mags such as Tales of the Zombie, Monsters Unleashed, Dracula Lives and others.

MILLENIUM
Short lived, but they had a few titles of note, including Doc Savage. We do have a good number of their books in our file.

NOW COMICS
Who can forget the publisher of Green Hornet, Twilight Zone, The Terminator, Speed Racer, and Bats, Cats, and Cadillacs? We sure can't, because our file is full of runs of each of these titles, plus just about everything else which Now published over the years. The most recent material (from '92-'93) is the toughest to find, but our overstock file has much of this material.

ONI PRESS
Not as comprehensive as other publishers, but there is a very solid group of these books kicking around the file.

QUALITY/FLEETWAY
Lots and lots of the judicial titles (Judge Dredd, Judge Anderson, Judge Death), plus solid runs of many of their other titles, including Sam Slade, Slaine, and more.

RIP OFF PRESS
"Mainline" books like Freak Brothers, Fat Freddies Cat, and Rip Off Comics are in pretty good supply, while other titles are spotty. Check with us for other undergrounds as well.

SIRIUS
Other than Dawn, does anyone care? All you Animal Mystic fans can take care of your cravings here.

TEKNO COMICS (Big Entertainment)
We have most of the comics published by this short lived giant. Books by Neil Gaiman, Leonard Nimoy, Gene Roddenberry have fueled a niche market for these books.

TOPPS
Most of the Topps books are in good supply with the notable exception of Xena. Only a handful remain. X-Files, Kirbyverse, Zorro and others, all available.

VALIANT/ACCLAIM
Oh, yeah, we have runs and runs of these books. They seem to have had a minor revival in recent years, but there was a lot of great work by Bob Layton, Barry Smith, Steve Ditko, Dave Lapham, Bart Sears, Joe Quesada, and others.

VIZ
Our file is limited to the early years of their comic book run. Very little beyond 2000.

WARREN
We have a lot of Warrens, but not necessarily in store. If you're looking for middle to high grade copies of Creepy, Eerie and Vampi from the late 60's to early 70's, we should be able to find something for you.

OTHER PUBLISHERS
Remember, just because it's not on this list doesn't mean we don't have it! We have hundreds of titles by dozens of other publishers in addition to the ones listed above, including many books from the 40's and 50's that are kept off site. These include (but are not limited to) publications from:
